Effective March 7, face coverings will be optional at indoor and outdoor UNCW locations except where required by state or federal law and regulations.
In indoor settings, unvaccinated individuals are still encouraged to wear masks to protect themselves and others. The university also continues to encourage good hand hygiene – a protective measure for the flu, colds and COVID-19. Hand sanitizer stations installed as part of our pandemic protocols will remain in place across campus, and masks will remain available at several locations.
