The Wilmington Symphonic Winds opens its 2022-23 season with Creatures on Sunday, October 23, at 4:30 pm. This family-friendly concert will feature Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf. This performance will be the first installment in our season of Storytellers.
Creatures will mark the WSW’s first collaboration with clarinetist Andy Hudson. Described as “fearless,” Dr. Hudson is the perfect guest soloist to perform Black Dog – a rock-guitar-inspired piece influenced by the 1971 Led Zeppelin hit single of the same title.
Works by John Philip Sousa, Oscar Navarro, Julie Giroux, and Modest Mussorgsky will also crawl onto the stage, but you must attend to see which ones. Speaking of crawling, we will partner with some incredible organizations supporting animals, including rescues and local businesses. Come and show your support for their outstanding work in our community.
An October event wouldn’t be right without encouraging the youngsters and the young at heart to wear costumes for fun photo ops! This event will be an experience you and your kids don’t want to miss.
Admission to this concert is FREE! We will happily accept donations to support future programming. Create memories with Creatures!
